Quebec continues to offer their services through 1-866-APPELLE (277-3553)
Since the 30th of November 2023, the new 988 line dedicated to suicide prevention is operational. The organization formerly known as Talk Suicide Canada will now be operating under a new name: 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline. Outside the province of Quebec, 9-8-8 is the number to dial to access suicide prevention services.

The intervention line in Quebec has instituted the appropriate dispositions so that a person calling 988 in Quebec will not fall through the cracks. In dialing 988, the call or text will be redirected to Quebec services, namely 1-866-APPELLE (277-3553) or 53 53 53 respectively, ensuring continuity of care.
