My Tools: Changes to come 

A new version of My Tools will replace the current version soon on January 13, 2026. Here’s what you need to know.

On January 13, 2026, you will not longer have access to your current account on My Tools. Your data will also be deleted.  
 
If you would like to keep the information stored on your current account, you may want to consider saving it now (screenshots, copy-pasting into a document, or other methods). Take a look at the how-to guide below for more information on what information can be saved.  

Note: to personalize your My Tools experience, you will need to create an account on the new platform.

New web-based platform and end of My Tools app 

On January 13, 2026, the new version of My Tools will only be available on the web, at mytools.ca. The mobile app will no longer be available.  

What to expect from the new version 

On January 13, 2026, on mytools.ca, you will find:  
 

  • An improved user interface 

  • A redesigned and more intuitive journal  

  • A new tool to create small steps and progress at your pace 

  • Ideas of steps to take when you’re having suicidal thoughts  

My Tools home page and My journal

Counsellors are still available 

Throughout these changes, you can still speak to a counsellor on suicide.ca at all times:  
 

  • By texting 53 53 53 

 
Tip: if you want quick access to chat services or My Tools on your cellphone, you can create a shortcut on your home screen (like an app). Pressing on the shortcut will then open the site you want directly.
